Giving back is important to me! Having been in the military for years, we were quite often required or “voluntold” if you will, that we needed a certain number of volunteer activities. I found that I really enjoyed working with Meals on Wheels for the elderly and Shelter Animals. I have also volunteered as a photographer for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation for children’s cancer. Volunteering for a worth while cause makes me happy.
My dogs are such a big part of my life and animal rescue is very important to me. Whenever possible, I dedicate time to local shelters and rescue organizations taking special adoption pictures for animals in need. Because one picture can save a life, I will commit to one by one till there are none. If your shelter or rescue group is looking for volunteer photography services, please feel free to contact me so we can discuss your needs.
I am currently a proud, active member of the following organizations:
HeARTs Speak is a global network of animal photographers, artists, authors, graphic designers, and advocates who believe in the power of collaboration. We are a partner-based organization committed to making a positive and lasting impact with our members, animal welfare organizations and the greater community. We provide our partners access to images, stories, and services that help them further their cause. Together and united in our efforts, we are ambassadors of change.
Smile for a Cure is a pet portrait charity benefiting The National Canine Cancer Foundation! We are a caring group of Pet Photographers across the country making a huge difference in the lives of dogs with cancer & the people who love them. During a special promotional period out of the year, our pet photographers donate 100% of their session fees to The National Canine Cancer Foundation, a non-profit, 501(C)3 dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health issue in dogs (www.wearethecure.org).
